A Ruined Date Night

The summer breeze this year is exceptionally dry, yet the dampness it leaves as the sun slowly sinks beyond the horizon is much, much more annoying to deal with compared to the scorching noon. Not to mention, blizzards and summer rains occur frequently, adding extra yet unnecessary touches to the unusual turn of the weather.

The air conditioner is running nonstop to cool down the room, yet, for a brief moment she leaves to get something from the kitchen, Mona’s sweat already rolling down her exposed neck. As she stepped into her comfortable bedroom, the cool air from the air conditioner brushed her neck, and she involuntarily shivered. A drastic change of temperature sends discomfort to her gut, earning another grumble from her. She has been doing that a lot, especially since she has nothing to do. No work, no mission. There are assignments, of course, but she doesn’t feel like doing any, not in this weather. Her brain was already fried up from the heat.

While lazily scrolling down her phone while sipping the cold drink she fetched a few moments ago, a pop-up notification appears. A text from her dear sister. By that last line of thought, Mona mockingly snorts.

[I thought about it, and I think we can make things happen. Does the day after tomorrow sound good to you?]

Mona instantly frowned. She didn’t remember having any prior appointment with Levi. Not to mention, the text sounds too sweet to be directed at her, knowing how they normally interacted. She was about to ask what the other girl meant when another text came in.

[Or whenever you have the time. Whatever works for you.]

Mona raises an eyebrow. She’s now convinced the text wasn’t meant for her, but someone else, whoever it is. Probably one of Levi’s one-night stands. While she’s wondering how Levi mistook her number for that person, she’s too bored to let it go. A mischievous grin appears on her visage as her fingers smoothly type on the screen.

[Can’t we do it tonight?]

A reply comes almost instantly.

[Tonight? Are you sure?]

[I’m sure. Unless… you have another appointment?]

[Do you mind waiting for a bit, then? I need to get ready.]

[Sure, take all the time you need. Where do you want to meet?]

[How about near Station E? In two hours?]

[Okay. I’ll see you in two hours—]

Mona stops typing, pondering. If she remembers correctly, Levi should be in her room right now, probably masturbating as usual.

[—Though… Can I ask? What are you doing right now?]

[Nothing much, just a bit excited because we’re about to meet.]

[Oh… so you’re thinking about me?]

[Mm, of course.]

Mona can’t help but giggle. She’s curious how Levi hasn’t noticed yet, but keeping up with this play is fun.

[And… what are you doing while you think about me?]

“Wait, she’s not gonna admit she’s touching herself, is she?”

[Nothing in particular…?]

[Really? Nothing? Not at all? I mean, as for me, I can’t wait to see how beautiful you look.]

Levi has read the text, but no typing bubble appears. It took her longer to reply, long enough for Mona to wonder if she had made a slip. Perhaps, the new guy isn’t that flirty, and that gives her out?

[I dress up for you, of course! Sorry for the late reply, I was honestly taken aback by your words, hehe. It makes me shy.]

Mona holds back her puke.

Disgustiiiiiiing! Damn, I know she’s just acting coy to fish this poor guy, but it’s so disgusting knowing what kind of person she really is!

[Are you?? I’m glad you’re as excited as I am. You know, I'm actually ready to go, but since you put in the effort to dress for me, I’ll change my clothes into something better. Not sure it’ll suit your preference, though.]

[It’s okay, I’m not picky! I’m sure whatever you’re wearing will look good on you!]

“Ha? How can you spew something like this so nonchalantly when you judge everyone’s fashion sense as much as you can?”

Mona rolls her eyes. Then again, she is the same. Behind that sweet-girl-who-is-idolized-by-many facade she puts on, she’s no different from Levi. It’s nothing but a mask to hide the rebellious, beastly side she hides from the public—an act.

[Speaking of dressing up, do you mind telling me the color of your outfit? I may have something to match you up.]

[Oh, I’m wearing my favorite blue dress. Shall I send you a picture?]

Mona knows which dress she is talking about. Levi loves that dress so much, and almost always wears it when she catfished some guys into a one-night stand.

[Hmm… I think I’ll surprise myself by seeing it in person. But I can tell it looks good on you.]

[Hehe, thank you. You’re such a sweet guy, you know? I’m sure you’re always popular with ladies waiting for a chance to go on a date with you.]

[Ah, there’s no such thing.]

As Mona types and sends the text, the typing bubble still appears. Levi is already in the mood to shower the poor guy with excessive sweet nothings to make him even more head over heels, it seems. Not like Mona doesn’t understand how it works. She just can’t understand why Levi is so addicted to the debauched act, almost as if she can’t live without it. Then again, remembering the other girl’s upbringing, this is the most natural thing to do.

And, plus point for Mona, who almost died from boredom, Levi’s addiction to sexual activity had blinded her this long to notice the scam, giving Mona enough entertainment to pass the time.

[I truly understand why so many girls are infatuated with you, me included, hehe. I’m so glad you said yes to my invitation, you know?]

[Are you? I’m not as good as you just described, so now I don’t know what to say.]

[Sweet and humble. Do you know it makes girls like you more?]

[Oh… I really have no idea…]

[Are you just oblivious or simply pretending not to know? Well, whatever it is, it doesn’t matter. Let’s just enjoy tonight’s date to our heart’s content.]

[Sure will. Okay, I won’t hold you any longer to get ready. See you soon, Levi.]

[See you!]

Mona throws her phone on the mattress and stretches out her limbs. A mischievous smile lingers on her face as naughty ideas pass her mind, imagining what kind of face Levi will make when she finds out about the truth. The Pinkett will probably try to kill her, not surprising. Mona doesn’t mind the unavoidable clash as long as she gets her fun by ruining Levi’s supposedly fun night.

She instantly jumps out of bed and hurries to get dressed. She needs to leave the house before Levi.

The guy Levi tries to seduce is a college student she came across near her usual cafe. The moment she landed her gaze upon him, her body reacted instantly. She wanted him. She must get him. Long story short, after a little harmless act she often played on any men she came across, Levi got his number.

It was her little slip.

That night, without saving his phone number first and immediately texting him, she mistook Mona’s number for his, as theirs are somewhat similar. Levi didn’t have Mona’s phone number anymore simply because she was upset about what Mona did; it was a little banter that usually happened between them, and Levi was being petty when she erased Mona’s name from her contacts. Who knows, she ended up being tricked because of that harmless pettiness she once harboured?

Right now, in front of Station E, where Levi is supposedly meeting the new guy, Mona casually waves at her with that disgustingly sweet grin. Both are adept actresses. Putting on a friendly smile despite exchanging deadly threats to each other is their daily ritual. So, responding to Mona’s sweet girl’s smile, Levi waves back at her sister with the same beaming expression.

“Why are you even here, snake?”

“What else? To take my little sister on a fun date.”

The way Moan emphasizes the words ‘little sister’ makes Levi’s eyebrow twitch in annoyance, but she smiles wider instead, chuckling a little as if Moan just said the funniest thing—which, in a way, it is.

“Even if I ran out of guys to sleep with, I will never go on a date with you.”

“Oh, don’t say that. Aren’t you excited about this date?”

Mona gently waves her phone, showing the chat log between them just a couple of hours prior. Levi squints as she skims through the chat, utterly shocked.

“What the—!”

Levi takes out her phone and checks the log abruptly. She has to lower her voice to curse under her breath as she notices the mistake, and Mona doesn’t bother to hide her excitement at seeing Levi’s expression.

“So? Where are we going? Which hotel?”

Levi grumbles her curses even more. “Shut up, or I’ll kill you.”

“We’re already here. Besides, you put in effort to dress up nicely for—how long? Two hours?” Mona laughs and whispers mockingly, “I’ll take my sweet time to undress you, my dear.”

Levi’s eyebrow twitches harder. “You sound awful.”

“Pretty much my text sounded sweet enough for you.” Mona giggles, still smiling from ear to ear with her good-girl image, whispers, “Didn’t you want us to have fun to the fullest, and make tonight a time to remember?”

Levi rolls her eyes. To say her mood becomes sour is an understatement; she is pissed. It’s even more annoying because Mona puts on that good-girl facade while mocking her, throwing sweet nothings she typically spews towards all the men she seduced. The handsome college guy she had thought of in the shower, the excitement she felt, the giddy giggles she let out as she dressed up, thinking about what kind of method would work best against this new guy to make him drop his pants, including her blazing arousal, all evaporated into thin air.

“Well,” Levi smiles back. “If you’re so eager to undress me, why don’t we cut the chase and… work on it?”

As much as it annoys her, Levi is a seductress. She might hate the person in front of her to death, but keeping up a sweet smile and enchanting them is child's play to her. Though what she wants isn’t to make Mona fall for her lovely words, but to disgust her even more. And it works wonders.

“Since you seem confident in the ‘undressing’ activity,” Levi steps forward, their faces only a mere inch away, and the closeness attracts enough gaze from their surroundings. “Shall I make myself your ultimate trophy?

Beneath her smile, Mona is actually holding back her disgust. While she doesn’t think sex in general is repulsive, Levi is surely not her option to go with. And, knowing what kind of sickening Levi does to all her sleeping partners—both alive and not—makes the idea sound even more distasteful.

And she’s weighing her repulsion against her competitiveness, which sounds like a better option, despite both being undesirable.

Fortunately for Mona, before Levi urges her to respond, both feel the uncomfortable gaze from the crowd, aimed at them.

The women still. The way they look into each other’s eyes entertains the gathering crowd, pondering what kind of drama is about to happen. When two women are within such close vicinity, yet no love exists, it usually leads to one thing;

Disaster.

Though when it comes to Mona and Levi, the disaster is quite different.

“I wonder what kind of freak you drew this time,” Mona whispers, retaining her gentle voice, “Feels like whoever it is, ready to kill.”

“Aren’t they here for you?” Levi purses her lips, “I mean, I am always kind and sweet, so I don’t normally attract freaks.”

“Why don’t we find out, then?”

“Is this a challenge?”

“It is.” Mona raises her hand, gesturing for a handshake, but Levi entwines their fingers instead, clearly pushing Mona’s boundaries. “...If I win, you gotta stop getting all horny for a full week.”

“Challenge accepted.” Levi grins. “If I win, you’ll have to do your next mission naked.”

Mona rolls her eyes. Then again, both are betting on something so trivial that it doesn’t act like a punishment at all. Though, despite Levi’s confidence, not being allowed to touch herself for a week sounds tough, but manageable. She is a sex-craver, but not that desperate to be unable to control her own desire.

And, in return for destroying her much-awaited date and the mock insult from before, Levi literally drags Mona away without letting their interlaced hands go. Despite Mona’s attempt to break free from the grip, with that many people bypassing them and nearly bumping her a lot, she stops resisting, just not hiding her glare, she shoots at the younger girl at all.

It’s past rush hour, yet the shopping centre next to the station is always packed with people, especially at weekends. Saturday night is the worst time to pick, and, if not because she wanted to ruin Levi’s date, Mona wouldn’t come here willingly for no particular reason.

The closer they are to the source of that awful stare, the more they notice how unbecoming it feels. Whoever it is must be adept at hiding, as both failed to catch them on the first try. It’s not because that person is much more skilled, but simply because Mona and Levi underestimated the target.

“Huh, so they ran away.” Levi finally lets go of Mona and crosses her arms while tapping her foot in annoyance. “Whoever you are, you’ve made the wrong girl as your opponent.”

Next to her, Mona snorts. “That’s what you got for acting like a douche.”

“Excuse me?? Listen here, you shi—”

“Look, if you want to keep blabbering nonsense instead of catching that rat, I’m leaving. But if you do, consider it my win.”

“Hah? As if I’ll let you.”

Mona shrugs her shoulders nonchalantly. “From the moment we got here, it’s clear who’s the winner.”

Levi grumbles but says no retort. It’s true; the moment they arrived in the back alley, they instantly knew. Levi attracts a certain type of people: those who willingly walk into the trap she set to unleash their lust. The leering gaze felt so strong that both reacted accordingly, differently. The smile on Levi’s youth features is in contrast to Mona’s distasteful eye rolls.

“Fine, then. I’ll let you win this time.” Levi openly pouts. “I won’t touch myself for a whole week, starting tomorrow.”

“Hah?? Don’t just postpone your punishment to your liking!”

“Who does? We didn’t agree on the time, so I didn’t break any rule by starting the punishment whenever I wished.”

“You—” Mona clicks her tongue in annoyance. “Dumb bitch.”

Levi snorts, mocking back. “Call me attentive to detail.” She happily claps her hands while licking her lips, already thinking about naughty ideas. “I’ll catch the little rat myself and play with them for a bit.”

“Yeah, yeah. Don’t leave any corpse in the open. I don’t feel like cleaning the mess or doing some report for your obscene game.”

Levi doesn’t listen, at least, doesn’t show any sign she is listening to the warning. Mona follows her out of curiosity about the one observing them that deeply. Her guess; just one of the stalkers, or the guys Levi stood up without giving a second chance, not something new. She wants to know how good-looking the person is, though.

After a little chase, they arrived at the abandoned park on the outskirts. That guy, wearing all black from head to toes, with a big hood covering his head, making him appear smaller than he probably is. In his hand is a pocket knife, pointed in Mona’s direction.

“Oh?” Levi glances at Mona and the man. “I thought you’re here for me?”

“That woman… that wench…” His voice sounds shaky, as shaky as his hand holding the knife. “She… What is she to you??”

“Uh… how do I explain…” Levi awkwardly smiles and steps closer to him. “Anyhow, why don’t you show your face first, big guy? I can’t see you well in this darkness, so it’s hard for me to recognize you.”

“You know me.” He mumbles. “You should know me as much as I know you, my dear Levi.

“Oh, a lovers drama?” Mona crosses her arms. “Why does no one prepare a bag of popcorn for me?”

“You bitch! It’s all because of you that Levi turned me down!!”

The man charges at Mona, and she easily shifts to dodge the attack before casually hitting his wrist. The soft clank followed the yelp as the knife fell on the ground, and Mona kicked him in the groin, instantly sending him down as well.

“You need to choose your dick better, Levi.” Mona peeks into the hoodie. “He isn't even that good-looking. Weakling. Also,” she kicks his groin again. “Tiny.”

“Why are you treating him that roughly?? What if he can’t get it up ever again??”

Always with the sweet act, checking the guy as if she’s genuinely concerned about him. But Mona knows her better. Yet, she only observes how Levi acts as if she’s also the victim, pampering the poor guy with sweet nothings amidst the lustful gaze. Mona snorts and looks away, having had enough of witnessing the cheap, soap opera performance.

Just before Mona thought Levi was going to eat the stupid stalking at that instance, the latter snapped his neck. The crack sounds louder in the silent night, though Moan simply raises an eyebrow questioningly.

“As you said, he’s not that good-looking.” Levi shrugs. “Small dick.”

“That’s all?”

“What? He saw us.” Mona understands the emphasis; he witnessed the real them albeit seemingly too shaken to notice Levi’s strange behavior. “A flea that doesn’t worth my body.”

Mona says nothing, but she keeps staring at Levi dragging the corpse towards the forest behind.

“So… who is he after, actually? You or me?”

Levi stops moving and looks back. “Eh… Nice question. Who’s the winner, then?”

Mona raises both hands, shrugs. “He’s your stalker.”

“But he wants to kill you.”

Mona shrugs again as Levi rolls her eyes.

“Nulled. Fair.”

“Ha. You’re just happy nothing can stop you from masturbating.”

“What? You’re always welcome to join me. Wasn’t that why you sabotaged my date?”

Ugh, no thanks.”
